Why Vernon is taking off as a relocation centre
Vernon is a little bit of Okanagan heaven. Still small enough to count the traffic lights, but large enough to have attracted several good restaurants, coffee shops (independent and Starbuckian), one of a kind shops like incredible sausage makers and honey emporiums and of course services like banks and clinics and all the rest.
This amidst a lake district famous for it's, what else, lake access. And summers here are t-shirt shorts and sundress and bathing suit friendly. With some of the mildest and mellowest weather in the Okanagan and the rest of Canada, this is a four season kind of place. Winter means quick access to Silverstar and Sovereign Lake Nordic Club big for skiing. There are four (soon to be five) golf courses nearby. The wineries of the Okanagan start almost out your door here. You can go to fresh markets and even pick your own fruit and vegetables come harvest time. Pop into Kelowna for more choice of restaurants, cafés, shows and sports events and still get home in plenty of time for a relaxing time with a glass of wine in front of your fireplace in your Turtle Mountain home.
You're close to the airport here and since it is expanding there are more and more options for nonstops and great connections throughout the world.
